Welcome to Calderdale Mumbler!

Hi! I’m Charlotte, mum to three mini-mumblers with a passion for bringing people together.

I moved to Halifax from abroad after my second child was born, and immediately fell in love with the gorgeous scenery, fabulous parks and fun things to do with the kids. But I quickly became frustrated by how hard it was to find a comprehensive list of mum and baby classes close to me, and struggled to make a new ‘village’ for me and my two littles.

That’s why I started Calderdale Mumbler. I hope that by compiling all the wonderful things Calderdale has to offer families, that others will be able to connect, easily find things to do and fall in love with the area the way I have.

What we do:

• Run the Calderdale Mumbler Facebook Chat Group and What’s On Page, ensuring our local Mumblers can ask for advice and support in a safe environment, either as themselves or anonymously through us.
• Promote local events
• Share great local Mumbler offers
• Host a Jobs for Parents page
• Run Nearly New Sales and Mumbler Monthly Meet ups in the area
• Provide a platform for local businesses to promote what they do including all of the following –
  Days out
  Weekly classes, groups and playgroups
  Eating out
  Holidays
  School holiday activities
  Trusted tradespeople
  Local retailers
  and much more!

There are now 19 Mumbler sister sites throughout the country. And one of the things that I love about it, is that our tribe of followers are essential for its growth. You are the experts on our area and it is you that we listen to – so if you have any recommendations for local businesses, days out, insider knowledge about anything that would be helpful for parents and carers or suggestions for blog articles then please drop us an email at [email protected]

You can also visit our Facebook Chat Group and What’s On Page which will keep you up to date with any new posts or important information – our chat group is an excellent immediate source of advice and support; you can even post anonymously.

If you are a local business who would like to explore options for adverts or features with us, we have a number of options available.

We closely vet the companies and service providers who approach us and we would always turn down all sorts of things because we don’t like the company, the product, or don’t agree with the brand’s ethos, or don’t think it’s relevant to our Mumbler audience. Whenever we do talk about a brand or a product, it’s because we genuinely like it and think that our Mumblers might too. We will always be honest, we won’t recommend someone or something if we don’t believe they are up to scratch for our Mumblers – If we can’t say anything nice then we won’t say anything at all.
