The statistics surrounding STEAM education and careers can be rather mind boggling but, it is important to realise that quite simply, the job market is changing rapidly and whilst we often ponder about what our children will grow up to be, 65% of students today will enter into a role that doesn’t currently exist!
Also because of these advances there are less and less people available to fill these positions! That’s where as parents, we step in. Simple introductions to STEAM from an early age, including regular activities like building, tinkering and creating is essential for developing analysis and innovation skills in children.
At Technology in Play we are dedicated to generating passion and enthusiasm in young people by providing the environment to engage with STEAM education in a fun and exciting way. We strive to engage curious minds in our sessions with a range of hands on activities, team projects and an introduction to some of our favourite tech toys.
TiP launched in York last year with an amazing EXPO followed by a schedule of TiP Sessions, TiP Toddler groups and TiP @ School clubs. We are pleased to announce that EXPO’18 is launching this year and it will shortly be stopping in Bradford!
This event allows children to weave their way through a wonderland of all things STEAM, experimenting, building, crafting and coding their way through all five topics. Whether it’s getting gruesome with a slimy experiment, showing off your maths skills or learning new ways to code, there really is something for everyone! We’ll have an area designed for toddlers giving a taster of our pre-school sessions plus the main stations which are aimed for children aged 5-13.
This FREE two-hour event provides the perfect opportunity to come along, meet the TiP team and see what we have to offer in your local area. As well as getting stuck in with tonnes of new and exciting activities.
Join us in Saltaire at Titus Salt School on Saturday 2nd June from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. Sign up for free here. We can’t wait to see you there!
