If it’s the seaside you’re after, look no further than Greenhead Park, which is playing host to a beach and funfair.
It’s £7.99 for unlimited rides (there will be more than 20), including waltzers, a rollercoaster and dodgems for the big kids, and little train rides, flying chairs and tea cups for the smaller ones.

Mr Bloom will launch RHS Garden Harlow Carr’s new Children’s Gardening Weekend (Saturday 26 May and Sunday 27 May), which is designed to inspire the gardeners of the future to grow. During the weekend there’s the chance to see Mr Bloom perform live on stage, make your own Thumbelina-style rock garden, learn about bees with the Harrogate & Ripon Beekeepers, or pot up your own sweet pea seeds to take home and enjoy all summer.
The fun continues during the half-term holiday, activities include garden trail, garden detectives, crafts, grow your own grass heads, birds of prey demonstration, vegetable Olympic games and much more!
Join Hansel and Gretel at Mother Shipton’s during May half term, as they journey through the woods trying to find their way home. Actors will be stationed as characters in the park to interact with children and help families complete a themed adventure quiz sheet.
Also, see the famous Petrifying Well and Mother Shipton’s Cave. The park also has several scenic picnic areas alongside the popular River Nidd, an adventure playground and museum.

Enjoy different fantastical fairy tale activities each day in half term!
On Monday follow the fairy tale trial to find the Three Bears, Cinderella’s lost shoe and discover who cut off Rapunzel’s hair. On Tuesday try crafts inspired by different fairytale villains, Wednesday is silly science magical foamy fun and don’t miss the fairy tale inspired murder mystery on Thursday! On Friday make a unicorn or dragon in fairy tale creature crafts. Normal admission applies.
Make this half term go with a bang ay the Royal Armouries! It’s all about gunpowder, castles and siege warfare, delving back through history to show you the most incredible explosions and battles.
Children can have a go on the artillery range and join in with some explosive science workshops.
lots of inicorn fun down on the farm this May half term! Sparkle the unicorn has lost her magic, join The Copycat Party Company for themed fun and frolics! Enjoy the Sweetie Sparkle Show and have the chance to meet Sparkle the Unicorn herself.
