Santa’s Sleigh in Halifax: The Routes!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus- but will he be coming to your street?

Halifax Round Table and Brighouse Rotary are once again bringing festive magic to the streets of Calderdale, and giving the man in red a helping hand to tour Halifax in anticipation of Christmas.

He’ll start tonight (December 9, 2019) with Halifax Round Table, and the live Santa tracker will be in action again (check the FB page on the night in question).

Brighouse Rotary will take over Santa’s sleigh on December 16, guiding him through the streets  until December 20.

You can also catch him and his elves at local supermarkets with The Rotary Club of Elland.

All will be collecting money for charity.

Here’s the route Santa will be taking with Halifax Round Table:

• Fountain Head area (December 9, 6-8.30pm)
• Coronation Road area (December 10, 6-8.30pm)
• Well Head area (December 10, 7.15-8.30pm)
• Skircoat Green area (December 11, 6-7.15pm)
• Copley area (December 11, 7.15-8.30pm)
• Green Park area (December 12, 6-7.15pm)
• Beck Road area (December 12, 7.15-8.30pm)

Brighouse Rotary will help Santa wave through the streets of:

• Smithy Carr (December 16): Bracken Road, Cawcliffe Road, Oakroyd, Slead Avenue, Granny Hall, Halifax Road, Garden Road, Rayner Road, Dewhurst Road.
• Hipperholme (December 17): Bradley Close, Bramley Lane, The Grove, The Drive, The Avenue, Knowle Top Road, Park Close, Lydgate Park, Westfield Avenue, Westfield Drive.
• Bailiff Bridge (December 18): West Avenue, Wakefield Road, Ryecroft Close, Greenfield Avenue, Fairless Avenue, Shirley Grove, Aysgarth Avenue, Nunlea Royd, Bentley Avenue, Victoria Road, Broadacres, Tufters Fold, Imperial Close, Beechwood Park, Prospect Way, Cedar Grove
• Woodhouse (December 19): Woodhouse Lane, Long Fallas Crescent, Shaftsbury Avenue, Armitage Avenue, Archbell Avenue, Glyndon Close, Daisy Road, Wherwell Road. Stratton Road, Stratton Park, Danebury Road, Woodhouse Gardens, Woodhouse Lane.
• Healey Wood (December 20): Toothill Avenue, Greystone Court, Lyndhurst Grove Road, Lyndhurst Avenue, Long Ridge, Healey Wood Road, Healey Wood Gardens, Victoria Place, Gooder Lane, Rastrick Common, School Green, Hions Close, Scholey Road, Sunnydale Avenue

The Rotary Club of Elland will be spreading Christmas cheer through supermarkets on these dates:

• ASDA, Thrum Hall, Halifax (December 13): Noon-7pm
• Sainsburys, Wade Street, Halifax (December 17): 10am -4pm.
• Tesco, Brighouse (December 19): Noon-7pm
• Morrisons,Elland (December 20): Noon-7pm
• Tesco, King Cross (December 21): Noon-7pm
