It might seem as though we’ve been in lockdown forever, but the light is starting to beckon from the end of the tunnel.

Step 2 of the Covid-19 re-opening roadmap is from 12th April 2021. That means kids’ classes can reopen, many outdoor attractions – such as zoos and outdoor spaces – will welcome visitors, and we can even sit in a beer garden!

There are so many things to do as a family in and around Calderdale! But as we’ve found out, lots of places require pre-booking. So, now is the time to start planning!!

Please note: many venues and attractions require pre-booking. Due to restrictions, parts of the attractions may still be closed (for example, indoor areas will remain closed until at least 17th May in step 3).

Farms & Zoos

Seeing the new baby animals is one of our favourite spring-time activities! Some local options are listed below, but do check opening times to avoid disappointment.

Pubs with a good playground

Two households or 6 people are allowed to meet up from 12th April in an outdoor setting. A pub with a garden and playground could be great for lunch out! Don’t forget to check with the venue that they have reopened, and whether you need to book!

Classes, Clubs & Playgroups

We have so many amazing class providers in Calderdale and they are all eager to welcome you back to face-to-face classes! As well as being loads of fun, they are a great way to meet other parents! Many have had to change days and venues to comply with Covid rules so over the next few weeks, I’ll be updating as many listings as I can with new information.
